📂 Open Source vs. Escrow

At Daphne Studi, we offer our products in two different formats: Open Source and Escrow-Protected. Understanding these differences will help you choose the version that best fits your server's needs.

🔐 Escrow-Protected Version

Our Escrow-protected scripts use the official FiveM Asset Escrow System. This is the standard for most creators to protect their intellectual property while ensuring ease of use for customers.

✅ Advantages

  • Security: The core logic of the script is encrypted and cannot be leaked or stolen.

  • Plug & Play: Designed to work instantly upon purchase via your Cfx.net account.

  • Reliable Updates: Since the core files remain unchanged, we can provide seamless updates without breaking your custom configurations.

  • Lower Price: Generally more affordable than the Open Source version.

⚠️ Limitations

  • Limited Access: You can only edit the files we provide for configuration (usually config.lua, html, or locales).

  • Account Bound: The asset is tied to the Cfx.net account used during purchase.

  • Dependency: Requires an active connection to FiveM's authentication servers.

🔓 Open Source Version

Open source products provide you with the entire, unencrypted source code. This version is ideal for advanced developers who wish to perform heavy modifications.

✅ Advantages

  • Full Customization: You can modify every single line of code to fit your server’s unique requirements.

  • Deep Integration: Easier to integrate with custom frameworks or highly modified server cores.

  • Learning: Great for developers who want to understand how the script works under the hood.

  • No Authentication: Does not rely on the FiveM Escrow authentication (though it still requires a valid FiveM server).

⚠️ Limitations

  • Higher Price: Reflects the full ownership and access to the source code.

  • No Support for Modified Code: We cannot provide technical support if the original code structure has been altered by the user.

  • Security Responsibility: You are responsible for keeping the code secure and not redistributing it.

Still not sure? If you just want a script that works and allows you to change basic settings (colors, coordinates, items, etc.), the Escrow version is perfect for you. If you are a developer planning to rewrite parts of the script, go for Open Source.
